This recent development is about a rehabilitation project in Iföverken, an old industrial area.

Iföverken has deep-rooted history in the ceramic and geological fields in Sweden. On the site there are many tons of leftovers after Ifö Isolators factory closed down in 2019. The objective was to create a range of new recipes and clay bodies from them in order to both clean up and use for art.

The neighbouring Sylvamo Nymölla Paper mill provides heating for the Ifö Center and also donates some of their leftovers to promote artistic projects. These new paper porcelain mixtures made from the raw materials leftovers and silicate waste of Ifö Insulators factory and paper pulp from the Sylvamo paper mill in order to create materials and artistic projects in a sustainable way.

These recipes can be used for any artistic projects in the future.

The paper porcelain recipes were designed with the support of the Culture Moves Europe program.
