MADE BY HAND TO LAST
Like wild animals in their habitat, Edit Szabo’s sculptural furniture adapt to historic and contemporary architectural styles as well as natural spaces.
Their clean, closed forms only occasionally display protruding body parts or jutting bones, leaving the rest to our imagination. It is up to us to complete their images, and we ask ourselves just how close we can allow the wild animal to come?
Beyond the allure of their functional qualities, the furniture awakens the call of the wild in us. What seems from a distance to be a geometrical form reveals the contours of an animal on closer inspection. We instinctively reconcile the animal of our imagination with the form in front of us. It invites us to touch the pieces, their pleasant curves lead our fingers to discover fine arcs and previously undetected details. Much like approaching a tamed beast, we begin with cautious strokes, its calm energy gradually emboldening us to more unrestrained, playful inspection.
The pieces that make up the TAME series are manufactured from durable, long-lasting chamotte clay mass using the traditional techniques of the Zsolnay Pyrogranite factory. The pieces are uncommonly long-lived furniture, even in the most extreme conditions. The archetypal forms were manually pounded into negative molds, later fired at high temperature from chamotte clay mass into exceptionally hard, durable, frost-resistant, water-resistant, chemically inert, UV resistant and easy to clean pieces.
The furniture is hollow thanks to the method used to press their forms, making them light and easily arranged. They can be fixed to any foundation, and any form of electronics may be installed in their voids. They can also accommodate any type of heating, as piping can be installed inside their shapes. They meet the hygienic standards of bathrooms, and are easy to clean. They are ideal as resting places or heated (or cooled) seatings in spas, saunas and pools. Their formal language makes it possible to manufacture them from other materials, such as concrete, fiberglass, or artificial stone.

that its porosity becomes almost zero and frost cannot affect it.
FIRE RESISTANT
TAME furniture meets the requirements of the highest fire resistance class "A1".
100% UV RESISTANT
TAME is not affected by UV rays, and maintains its colour intensity forever.
CHEMICAL RESISTANT
Tame is resistant to all basic and acidic cleaning materials (e.g. Acetic Acid,
Nitrous Dissolvent, Phosphoric Acid, Soda).
HIGH HYGIENIC LEVEL OF STANDARDS
Burning at high temperature results in chemically resistant and waterproof materials, which
means that TAME can be easily cleaned to meet the highest hygienic standards.
INTENDED USE
Tame furniture is intended to be used as indoor or outdoor furniture for sitting. TAME pieces can be put on any flat or even surface; four sides of the BEAR and one side of the FOX can serve as a seating surface. It is recommended to use felt pads under the furniture on hard floors. Both the BEAR and the FOX can be stressed with 350 kilograms of weight. Both pieces can be cleaned with any cleaning materials. If used as intended, TAME products will serve forever.
IMPROPER USE
TAME furniture should not be thrown or exposed to extreme dynamic stressing or aggressive confrontation with hard materials.
