One of the core areas of Edit Szabo’s body of work is street furniture, meaning indoor-outdoor pieces or groupings that play functional roles in social and public space, becoming an organic part of a place. She designs and creates one of a kind and short run pieces, marrying the distinguished effect of natural materials with sculptural gestures. The street furniture is made of a variety of frost-resistant materials: frost resistant ceramic, concrete, or a synthetic stone blend based on a custom recipe. They are appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use. Her most recent work is the seating family referencing animal figures. She is currently creating a new series that will encompass seating, light fixtures, planters, and heatable elements.
