Touch, imagination and material
The relationship with a wild animal begins with curiosity and careful approach. Trust develops gradually through repeated encounters.
TAME explores whether furniture can evoke a similar process. The forms reveal themselves slowly. From a distance they appear almost abstract; as we move closer, hidden ears, a curved spine or the sweep of a tail gradually emerge. Touch completes what sight alone cannot recognise.
The furniture invites instinctive recognition through archetypal forms, allowing imagination to participate in completing the experience. Like approaching a tame wild animal, the relationship develops through movement, curiosity and touch.
The furniture is handcrafted from high-fired chamotte ceramic, chosen for its exceptional durability in both indoor and outdoor environments. The hollow construction reduces weight while maintaining structural strength, allowing the pieces to function as long-lasting architectural furniture.
The ceramic body is frost resistant, UV stable, chemically resistant and suitable for intensive public use. The hollow interior also allows the integration of heating, lighting or planting systems, enabling the furniture to adapt to different architectural contexts.
